Is it easy for a computer software engineer to find a job?

I’ve been hearing that it’s difficult, but after checking out BLS I see that job outlook seems to be increasing. People tell me that a lot of Chinese and Indian Software engineers are taking all the jobs.

Is it, or has it been your experience that computer software engineers have a hard time finding jobs?
By steady jobs, I mean jobs that they don’t lose.

   The dotcom boom but its not as it was before the dotcom boom but its still easy to get job here in usa and uk.
   The same in usa and uk.

   depends on your skill set

   there are many Chinese and Indian taking jobs because there are not many american taking hard classes. Most are taking simple business and teaching. this may be good but compared to engineering and software development, they are ez.

   so if your going for a BS in comp si and or software development your ok. note lean towards .net and database development.
